Well I recently got a 99 Mirage DE Coupe with the 1.5 liter and I'm looking to upgrade it. Check out my new members post for more info. I just want to know what the possibilites are for upgrading the exhaust. Idealy I'd like to get bigger pipes, high flow cat, and high performance muffler. I don't think they make headers for this engine, at least I haven't seen any. What would you guys suggest to do? Keep in mind that I'd like to the vast majority of the work because it's my senior project for school and that I'm on a students budget.

do you have access to a welder? Im thinking this might look better for your senior project : Buy the pipe your self, buy the muffler and cat, and weld it all together? You know where KY exhaust is? cuz they have aluminized and stanless pipe ranging from 2" to 3" and they have a bender etc.

stick with the stock piping size otherwise you'll just hurt performance. You can upgrade the piping with stainless and maybe less bends or something, but dont go any bigger than i think 2.25
