Hey sebba I kinda just saw ur question.. I kinda hit an issue there. My oroginal idea was to go with the engine/tranny/drivetrain from the EVO VII. My intention is to stretch the back end a bit, and I figured this would work out. But when I went to do my research (since I realy am kinda car ill-educated) everywhere I went to check had different measurements for the vehicles. For the eclipse I got metric, and for the evo I got american. I can't convert mm to inches (again, slow) so basically all I found out was that the '03 evo has only 61 more horsepower than the '97 eclipse gs-t. I can't tell which body is heavier, or the length of each. Anyone got that kinda info, or a site to check? Cuz I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Ok I just ran some numbers and came across some interesting stuff. As you know, i was interested in taking the engine/tranny/drivetrain from the 2004 Evo and putting it into the 1999 Eclipse. Well, Looking at the numbers from the Ecipse GSX, and actually the 2006 Evo, I found an increase of 76 HP, An added 4.4" wheelbase, and added 6" in overall length. However, there was also a 5 lb difference between the GSX and the Evo (curbweight). Not much, but still. Just for fun I also checked the numbers for the 1999 3000GT, VR-4. With a wopping 320 HP (34 more than the 2006 Evo) it gave me +110 HP, +8.3" overall length, and the eclipse is 497 lighter (again, curb weight) than the 3000GT. I figure, More power, lighter, I could do a custom driveshaft... What do you guys think? Which would go better, a VR-4/GSX or Evo/GSX? I really really want input. Mind you, I'll be keeping the eclipse look, so dont judge by appearence of the GT or Evo. Thanks a lot!
