I had some big spikes made for me. They are a bit heavy, but they look really good. Im planning to mount them on the black plastick on the front of the roof rack. My question is, these spikes weigh a bit (5lbs? they are machined steel), and Im wondering If the plastic can handle that weight. other wise I may just tap a hole in the rack and bolt them on

I'd bolt them either way just to be safe.
What are they for exactly?

mostly looks. A while back I was designing a car door ripper (kinda like the one seen in the movie SWAT). This was the penetration piece. well after months of design, project was scrapped and I have these two spikes from proto type.

update:

I went to remove the front covers of the roof rack today and found it to be flimsy.... also I couldnt figure out a way of taking them full off as i feared breaking it (somebody know how?). I guess Im just gonna have to bolt them on to the steel tubing. Posting pics after I get them on.
