ive been taking it easy with launches recently being as though evos have a tendency for the tcase to destroy easily.
but just in case.....if i do snap it..will it be covered under warranty?

thanks everyone

also...looking for MR rims, or any 17 inch bronze or gold rims...let me know if anything
highly interested

what are your mods on your car and milage???

chances are it wont be covered because mitsu will find some reason to void it.... do you have the stock clutch

Chances are they won’t cover it. As EMonz57 said, Mitsu will find some reason to deny your warranty claim. They know transfer cases just don’t blow or snap without some sort of rough driving or even abuse. Even if you don’t have any mods there are ways to perform checks and see how the car was driven. According to “Import Tuner magazine”, issue of July 2005, one of the steps of checking how a car was driven is electronic. “ The ECU computers controlling modern cars are incredibly complex and keep track of hundreds of sensors and constantly monitor data. For example, in the case of a Subaru, whenever a check engine light comes on, the ECU will detect failure and begin to record data. If your engine blows and the light comes on, the ECU will record the RPM, speed and boost level at which the engine let loose and thanks to OBD-II ports, accessing data stored is simple. Revs, throttle position, speed, boost level, and water and oil temperatures can be used to paint a picture of what type of rough driving a car experienced.”
There are ways to decently launch without putting too much stress on your T-case but most of the time the cost of that is getting a stronger clutch.

The EVO was a huge deal with this when the first came out because they were getting blown up and people would go to get warrenty work and be denied because the dealers were able to see the RPMs and boost levels and that is a red flag. On top of that in 03 supposidly mitsu had reps. going to local drag stips and videoing any EVOs that made a pass at the track then they would find out the name of the owner and VINS and would document it so they would void warrenties on these people. They cant do that any more since EVOs are not as rare as they were in 03

Yeah you’re right. There was one situation with this guy, Michael Miller, who purchased an Evo VIII and entered it into an auto-crossing event. After he made some good runs, the Evo broke down in a Star Buck’s parking lot. After taking it to the local Mitsu, he was surprised to see that his warranty had already been denied. Especially since his Evo had never been in for any services or any problems, and also his car had no mods and never really been launched. It was said that Mitsu has been sourcing event registration lists and cross referencing those names with Evo owners. “Mitsubishi Motors North America had no comment on the subject directly, but did state in a June 18, 2004 release that the company gives the benefit of the doubt to everyone and they do not have any automated web search system looking for Evo’s involved in race events.”
I personally think that they were lying. But now thanks to new laws they cant void a warrent jus because your car had been modified.

I knew of a few people who mitsu had pics of the cars staging at tracks and making passes so when they went in for work they were slapped with the void and pics to show why
