ok, forgive me if its something stupid, as i'm new to the mitzu world. i just got a 01 GT, when i floor it, between around 4 and 5g it makes like a hissing sound (kinda like air letting out of a tire) and i get a slight loss in acceleration, what is this? its all stock.

not major, it just doesn't accelerate like it does in lower RPMS, so i guess i would call it a performance loss..?

nah dont worry

sometimes thats what the intake sounds like. If you dont have a huge performance loss and a crap idle/stall at idle then i would say its just fine.

awesome cause it sounds like a damn turbo lol. it only does it sometimes though, that would make sense with it being the intake. i think i'm getting an aftermarket one VERY soon.

along with the headers and exhaust.

and clutch and flywheel

hey man i think it sounds alright, but you can just feel how restrictive the stock intake is.

Try removing the air filter and see if it makes the same noise. A wet or dirty air filter will cause the intake to make a "suction" noise at higher RPM's due to it's restriction. Seen it many times when i worked for Mits- mostly during rainy season and mostly due to wet filters. Give it a try.

sounds kinda far fetched, but i am missing the bolts holding the ram inlet down.... i think when it hits high RPMS it is bouncing around and suctioning to the hood, sounds like that actually might be it.
