hey guys, i'm new here but it seemed this is the right place to go for this question. I was thinking about purchasing a 1991 Eclipse to use as a project car, however, I have a concern that the regular Eclipses of those times had noly SOHC 1.8L's that packed only 90 or so horse power. Is it possible to drop in a DOHC to convert it in to a GS or GS-T? If so, is it difficult? and if not, what should I do?

They came in that trim also. They came in as Eclipse/Talon/Laser, they have the 1.8 n/a and 2.0 turbo. They also had the AWD trims too. It may be harder to find a good looking 1G though.

As for dropping in a 2.0 turbo, no real issues there, but it would be easier to find one than drop one in, in most cases...tha also depends on how mechanically inclined and how motivated you are to jump into a project like a motor swap.
