Hey all im Driving a Hyundai Scoupe Turbo at the Moment its running 200bhp which is nice for a 1500,
On hyundaiPeformance.com they have done Beta 2l Hyundai swops into Scoupe's, Which is Originaly a Mitsubishi motor but no one has ever transplanted the EVO in a Scoupe(which is orginally designed by mitsubishi anyway)

But im Just about to put in a Toyota 3SGTE Turbo motor, i was Toying with the Idea of the 4G63T engine but the gearbox goes down the opposite, Now i hear and have seen the Latter Evo's has a differnet engine(/Gearbox goes down the correct side)

When what year/Series/Model Evo did the engine change to the newer one cos thats the one im after and what is the model name of that Engine? cos i must give them that Engine number so they can import me one!

Please stay intouch

EVOs 1-3 was still on the driver's side. EVOs 4-9 have the motor on the passengers side.
I don't think it really matter what side the motor is on. My original 6g73 motor was on the passenger's side, I had an Eclipse 4g63t motor and AWD drivetrain swapped in and it's on the driver's side. Not to mention I went from a automatic to standard tranny.
Also, even if you went with and EVO motor (or any other motor), chances are you will still need to make custom motor mounts.
Question for you. Do you think that the EVO motor will have enough hood clearance. You don't really want to lower the motor too far past the bottom of the chassis.

If I may make a suggestion, use an Eclipse/Talon 4g63t motor, why? They are cheaper to pick up and there are more of them, compared to the newer, more expensive EVO 4g63. Did you know that the 92-? Elantra also had the 1.6L/1.8L 4g63 N/A motors?

...and hello

sweet you were planning on putting in my type of MR2 motor in there. Why not just stick with that instead?
