Im new to this forum, so bare with me if this has already been discussed. I happen to love the IX MR, but have the following question. As with all the Evos, this one also comes stock with the 140 watt radio. But in reviewing Edmunds and some of the other sites, whereas the Base model has the 300 watt infinity audio system as an option, the MR doesnt seem to offer it. So, does the MR come with the infinity already as the stock radio? Or, is it just not available with the MR, in which case youd need to buy the base model, and heap on the upgrades. But even so, youd lose out on the brakes, wheels, and 6 spd. Lastly, in addition to radio, Im guessing the MR isnt available with the sunroof, in order to protect its light weight roof panel? Thanks for the help.

MR no sunroof. MR do have SSL pack as far as I know and that means the all out radio\HID\Leather ect ect The straight IX model comes with the brakes they have different enkei wheels, the have full weight roof no HID no leather no bilstein suspension instead they are all macphearson (sp?) and they are only a 5spd. All IX come with front LSD, and ACD The SSL package is leather ricaros, HIDs, better sterio with 10 in sub in the trunk and I think a hand full of other small things like factory gauges in a triped cluster instead of having the cubby hole under the radio\ climate controls The RS is wingless with no power options

From what i found the MR's and the RS's did not have the option on the 315 watt infinity system, only the base did

I checked on the mitsu site, and because the MR and the SE have the aluminum roofs, no sunroof is available in those models, hence, no SSL pkg. Ive searched everywhere and unfortunately, it seems that the MR model doesnt have the good radio, ie, the infinity 315 watt radio with the subwoofer, available. And since its got no SSL pkg, and since I havent seen 'leather' as an individual option any more than Ive seen the 315 watt Infinity radio as an individual option, I dont think they are available in any other trimline except the IX base model. Im approaching this as a new mitsu evo buyer.. I currently own a supercharged and modded '99 BMW M3, and Ive recently driven a slightly modded IX Evo MR, and I got hooked... So when I tell you that from where I sit, its crazy to not offer the top of the line MR model without the good radio. Why should I have to sacrifice the radio, and Leather Recaros, just because I want to get the Bilstein struts? What a bummer!!

Thanks guys.. that clears it up. Well, now what to do.... Keep in mind this is still at the fantasy stage as I have a dynomite '99 M3 with lots of mods Im not nearly ready to give up, but if I were to want to switch, the problem Id have is that from the MR line Id want the 6 spd, Bilstein Shocks up front, Boost gauge pkg, and ltwt roof. From the base IX line, Id want the 315 watt Infinity radio/cd pkg, sunroof, and the Leather Recaros all available in the SSL pkg. Unfortunately, we cant have both.. We Can buy the base IX pkg and purchase . I really dont understand why, considering the MR is the top of the line model, they would exclude two top line options which seems to me almost everyone buying the MR would want, namely the good radio, and the Leather Recaros.
