If I was to provide my vehicle's VIN...would I be able to get any information from Mitsubishi? Kinda like Ford's OASIS (Online Automotive Service Information System). Thanks for any info. :)

Nope...I'd never give out my VIN. LoL. I mean info regarding options the vehicle is equipped with, where it was build, rear axle ratio, build date and the likes...you probably get the idea. :)

For the most part, any general info you might want could be found in the vfaqs. There aren't many variations in the dsm world, apart form the generation differences, there are only minute or superficial changes in each generation. Things like moving from pop-up headlights to fixed, bumper changes, body colors and interior colors..stuff like that. Nothing major mechanically in each generation. The 2g 95's had eeproms, the other 2g's didn't....wiperfluid bottle moved in rear of turbo car on 95-96....stuff like that. Actually to be more in depth, the 95-96 cars had differing gas tanks and rear end assembelies than the 97-99 model AWD's, and the FWD's had less bracing in the doors and bodies than the AWD's. Not differing in gear ratio's or anything like that, but just mounting points are in slighty different places and the x brace is moved a little over.....just minor things. Nothing worth worrying about and nothing that can affect performance or vehicle dynamics. If you want to get into real rear end changes and gear ratio's and crap like that, look for parts from the EVO 1-3, Galant VR-4(4 cylinder), Eclipse Spyders, and Galants(again 4 cylinders). Hope this helps, and check out the Vfaqs at vfaqs.com

well if it is a eclipse/talon/laser or 3000gt/stealth or 93+ galant or one of several others it was made a a couple of fields over from my house... most of that info can be found in vfaq or something like msn autos.... date of manufacture and where will also be on the drivers door.
