Sounds about right to me. I have stock 16" rims on my Conquest. 16 is the biggest that manufacturers put on cars till this decade.

my 90 gs had 195k on it and it ran really good, took a couple cranks to start but it was way more reliable then my 93 gsx that i have now. 16's are good, i would only go to 17 on aftermarket rims, but thats just me.

i would do the timing belt as soon as you can. Its one of those things that may last alot longer than expected, but its something you dont really want to chance. If your doing the work yourself make sure you also replace the tensioner on it as well.

timing belt isnt really the quickest thing to replace, the water pump is under it, if it craps out you gotta tear it all back apart again, same with the tensoner pulleys, the balance shaf belt is what killed my car,it tangled up in the timing belt and made it break & bent 10 valves so dont overlookit, your in there, might as well do it all so you only have to do it once
i have been working on cars since i was a kid, i dont know evrything but ive seen and done alot, every damn time i changed just a timing belt, the water pump goes to hell a week later, or the tensioner, its just bad luck and asking for trouble to not do it all,
take your top timing cover off and inspect the belt , see what kind of shape its in, if its not cracked or worn out looking, it might be fine for a while
and if your going to complain about a $28 belt, i just spent about $2500 on my car on another engine, turbo, and some other new go-fast parts to go along with it if that makes you feel any better
