I got my 94 3000gt SL over 2 yrs ago from a private seller with 90K and paid 6,000 for it, good deal? Neways I wanna ask is the K&N filter intake without the tube better or the Injen IS intake with the tube AND filter better? There is like a $25 difference. Also are Kumho tires good for the car? And last for now, is borla the only exhaust for it? Let me know the right intake and exhaust and any other basic mods bc I just wanted to start putting stuff into it, The car is black with a custom paint job 5spd. Thank you it has 222hp and 205 tq, how much will the intake and exhaust push it to? thanks guys

borla is prolly the best exhaust for it...they sound amazing. the intake is better then the filter....you wont get power from an aftermarket filter...and kumho are pretty good tired imo

ive never dyno'd my car so i wouldnt know what your hp would be after installing these products. but when i got my intake (3sx) and my catback exhaust (magnaflow) installed, i noticed a difference in performance . its not gonna make your car fast as hell but its a start. you got to work your way up and this is a perfect way to start. everyone says that borla is the best exhaust system for it. i dont like the way it looks on our cars. it is the most reliable though. i go for looks and performance. i recommend the intake that they sell at 3sx.com . i know its a little pricey but you wont be dissapointed.

Ive restored probably 9 mitsubishis, and taken off the aftermarket stuff....I believe in the addage that whats OEM is best left that way. Most of the time replacing factory equipment leads to other issues that most folks wish to avoid....Im sure there are some that disagree, and thats whats great about this forum....

Are you sayin we are stupid for upgrading cars and that we are all making big mistakes?

Sorry but you are a little nieve about this. Since when has mitsubishi got any car 100% perfect? NEVER.

Your statement is very generalised and retarded!

Not at all,I was merely saying that under normal circumstances what the factory puts on a powerplant, tranny etc are geared for maximum performance and is sufficient for most. Its just been my personal experience that when a person starts deviating from the oem equipment(especially on the newer cars) that he/she is likely going to have some issues down the road that otherwise wouldnt come up.Some folks are exceptionally well versed in performance mods and know whatever pitfalls that can arise, others arent. My apologies if anyone was offended in my previous post.It was purely un-intentional.Most of the restoration projects Ive done both Turbo, and Non-turbo have had major mechanical issues due to the previous owner(s) use of aftermarket gear,and/or their lack of technical knowledge,or mis-application.

lol thats fair... but that is ignorance and stupidity.... not down to the performance parts themselves.

Agreed,You wouldnt believe all the crap I took off some of these cars, and to make it worse, some of the stuff was prime stuff, just put in/on WAY wrong....Bought a 97 Talon last year, someone had put on a cold air intake, took off the air filter(or never tightened it) ran the car through a BIG puddle of water, and sucked it into the engine..all 4 rods were bent, and #1 was snapped in half, the intake tube was so close to the ground,he never thought of it ingesting water...got it cheap, and did a short block, otherwise the car was pristeen...later on.
